Brew In A Bag Beer Recipe – Chocolate Oatmeal Stout (BIAB)

How to make beer from grain – Double Chocolate Oatmeal Stout
In this video I show you how to make a beer from grain using the brew in a bag method. It’s really easy to do and produces great results! https://www.home-brew-online.com/equipment-c40/crafty-fox-electric-brew-kettle-with-bi-metal-thermometer-p3429
I used our Crafty Fox stainless steel electric brew kettle which is perfect for the BIAB method. See the link above.

  1. Thank you for this video. I really needed a step by step instruction video as some things arent always explained. How many pints did you get out of this boiler/kettle size?. Thank you

  2. Hi, greetings from Mumbai. Is this recipe for 19 ltrs or 25? I thot I heard you say 25 but vol in fermentor was shy of 19. Asking as I'd like to scale this down to a 10 ltr batch. Regards.

  3. Two questions – the first is when you squeeze the bag. I've heard other places that this can release chemicals that may influence the flavour, akin to some tea bags. Is this something that shouldn't be worried about? The other question is about the ABV, should you decide to top up the wort, if you mix in dextrose sugar, would this counteract the dilution? Or would we be past the point where you could add additional sugars?

  4. Has anyone tried to brew this? I have just bought a mash kettle and this might be my first brew. Might add some cold brew coffee. Have you thought about coca nibs or would that be overkill? As I say I’ve never brewed all grain before so thank you for your great video!

  6. I was on your website earlier to buy one of these, but you don’t have any in stock? Any idea as to when you will?
    Many thanks

  7. If you have a fermentation chamber to keep that temp perfectly balanced your brew would be so much finer, and aeration of your wort wouldn't be a bad thing, plus rehydrating the yeast could make for a 200% better yeast count- trust me REHYDRATE YOUR YEAST IT GETS YOUR MONIES WORTH!!

  8. Great video.. I started off AG with BIAB. Still do, but replaced the bag with a SS basket.

    Thanks for sharing the recipe.
    Will knock this up.
    Love the pot too
